Jungle Keva Tulum
Located just a short drive away from the main road of Tulum, you will find the beautiful award winning boutique hotel ‘Jungle Keva Tulum’. The hotel is designed by the Mexican architect Jaquestudio and for this project the studio aimed to preserve around 70 per cent of the vegetation of the area. This resulted in a beautiful aesthetic of the hotel’s ground and open spaces where you literally walk between plants and trees that have been long before they build the hotel.
This boutique hotel is small and has only five beautiful designed lodges with floor to ceiling glass windows giving you the feeling of sleeping in the middle of the jungle. The typical white walls are made from Chukum, a mixture of limestone and the resin of trees from Mexico’s Yucatan region and even the infinity pool is designed in a way so they didn’t have to take down the trees.
The lodge we stayed in had a private terrace with a hammock and a seating area overlooking a part of the jungle. The interior has a modern look&feel and the king size bed was super comfortable. We were most excited about the beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom, where even though you were showering outside between plants and trees, you still had all the privacy you expect.
Every morning there is a different delicious hot breakfast made from local produce available in the restaurant on the property.
If you want to unwind and just relax without having to many people around, or if you would like to stay near the town then Jungle Keva Tulum is the perfect spot. You can take yoga classes in the morning and relax at the infinity pool after. The hotel also offers bikes to explore the area (see our Tulum travel guide for tips), the town and the beach and we absolutly loved our stay here.
