In the middle of the Mojave Desert, surrounded by massive granite rock formations, you’ll find one of the most unique places we’ve ever stayed. It has all the ingredients for a stunning desert-style getaway. It’s no surprise that Sol to Soul House was named ‘the coolest Airbnb in California’ by Condé Nast Traveler.
The house consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one of which is ensuite), an open kitchen with a bar, and a large living room. Each space in the house has large floor-to-ceiling windows, so whether you’re lying in bed, taking a shower, cooking, or relaxing on the couch, you can enjoy stunning views of the incredible scenery all round the house. Outside, accessible through sliding doors, is a terrace with a barbecue, some lounge chairs and a lovely secluded area with a cowboy tub, and a hot tub.
Due to its unique location, we definitely recommend grabbing some groceries before driving the three-mile private dirt road to Sol to Soul House. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience to barbecue with an incredible sunset and underneath the clear starry sky of the Mojave Desert. If you’re up for an adventurous drive in the dark, grabbing dinner at Pappy + Harriet’s or the Red Dog Saloon in Pioneertown (20 minute drive) will make your stay even more unforgettable.
The area around Sol to Soul House has a lot to explore as well. As mentioned, the famous Pioneertown is just around the corner, and the house is located on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, where you can do some incredible hikes. If you don’t mind driving a bit further, you’ll also find the lovely town of Palm Springs, along with the major cities of Los Angeles and San Diego!
